Photographer's Note
Unfortunately it is not clear yet if men and women fit to each other. Humanity is still waiting this question to be finally answered by American scientists or some other higher authority.

Very well seen Andreas, the footprints and tracks make a great backdrop for this couple. I like the way you've positioned them too - walking out of the frame. You were lucky they wore black - anything else would not have been so good.
Good job, Roberto

Hi Andreas, fantastic view, with that couple walking on that wonderful street full of tracks on the snow, as a giant patterns carpet!
fantastic POV and excellent quality too.

Hello Andreas,
This is an amazing capture! The thumbnail looks like modern art, and looking at the actual photo I love the graphism created by all of the black footprints in the white snow. The couple are perfectly placed, and they jump out almost in a surreal way against the ground, which really looks like a backdrop. Really original and interesting!

Hi Andreas.A striking creation, artistic and whimsical. The figures in black have a strong presence and their hand in hand posture is a powerful statement, or question (in your case.)The footsteps in the snow can have a poetic side, since they could represent the thousand of others who are asking similar questions. Unusual and thoughtful work. regards. Klaudio.

Graphically this is a very interesting photograph. The people are placed very nicely at the bottom of the frame. I like the bicycle tracks that twist through the frame too. The title is good because it causes us to take a closer look at this couple. They are holding hands but are walking fairly far apart. Their black clothes are very fitting as well.

Ryan

Good composition and very good colour combination. A couples in a great position on those footprints background can tell many different love stories.

Hi Andreas,
The pattern drawn with black ruts and footprints on the white snow canvas. Captured it with exquisite framing. Clothes made black also give the image unity and the stability.
Splendid work.

What a nice composition. The footsteps on the snow make a Pollock like pattern, and a perfect background for this picture.
I like the way you composed it, vertically, with the two figures in the bottom.

TFS.

fantastic composition, patterns of footprints and lines of the bicycles of the people who had passed, the gesture is speaking a story - walking hand in hand but not really close to each other. Bravo

What a fantastic image. It took me a second to realise you hadn't done pp work on the background. I really get impressed with shots where there is delayed recognition. Very well done. I think the title is apt too as they are holding hands...but so far apart! Brilliant capture. Rgds, Leilani

As for the question in the title, I don't know who loves who, who I love or who loves me, but I know I've fallen in love with this shot (despite the man's bald patch). I also know some people who will envy this graphics like me.
As for the question in your note, don't bother scientists. I know the answer: no. But still, it's kind of bitter sweet fun to struggle to be compatible. Look at the couple in your own shot. They are walking in the footprints of their counterparts and they are not even aware that the prints are irregular, messy and seem to be going nowhere. Isn't it ironic? )))

God's POV over hopeless lovers...
Unhappy faces, pathetic body languages. They look like hand in hand because of a duty or obligation...
And thousands of such hopeless couples seem to have left their tracks on the same place. A sad place for sure...
Having usually seen such POVs from the docs of TE (like devimeuxbe and bostankorkulugu), I was developing a theory, that such scornful high POVs over people (which minimize people with a crushing God's POV) were becasue of the hidden grandiosity of the doctor genre. But you spoiled my theory.
Copy paste this link to your browser in order to see another God's POV which spoils my theory about the link between photographic styles and the hidden grandiosities of doctors.

Hi Andreas,
They look desperate in black clothes.. it creates a nice contrast on the white of the snow.. But in the sense of the picture, sad faces, contrast steps, the space between them make you give this name to the image.. i like your perspective and the place of the couple in the composition..
Congratulations,

This is the best I've seen today, although it's been posted a little while ago. My compliments, it is a tremendous POV, the image looks almost with no depth of field which enhances dramatically the graphism here...interpellating and also giving space to the imagination. All those steps in the snow...of so many people, in love or not. I think that the concentrated looks on their faces are because this is very slippery ground:-) I don't feel that people who do not love each other walk hand in hand. Very creative and interesting work ! I put it in my favs theme.
