Photographer's Note

This was my second visit to Athens, but my wife and daughter were there for the first time, so watching the changing of the guard at Syntagma Square was a must. Sadly the sun was behind the clouds and the dark winter uniforms of the Presidential Guard were hard to record well, while other details of their uniforms were almost in the color of the rocks behind. I wonder how this picture will look at your screens. I was not sure whether to choose a scene with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the background, or the most dramatic scene or one with faces clearly visible. I could not have it all. So I am aware it is a compromise but I simply had to show it here. I suppose this photo would be better suitable for yesterday which was the end of the World War I.
