Photographer's Note

Mirabello Gulf is an embayment of the Sea of Crete on the eastern part of Crete in present day Greece. This locale was important in prehistoric settlement of the island of Crete.
The coast of the Gulf of Mirabello was noted for its role in copper metallurgy development in the period circa 3000 BC. In the Late Minoan period, cities on high ground overlooking the Bay of Mirabello were founded as cities of refuge, including Karphi. Later in the Dorian Invasion, settlement occurred of other hilltop cities overlooking the Bay of Mirabello. An example of this phase of settlement was the city of Lato.

Hello Nasos,
This is a very nice composition. It is quite simple, which I find is a strong advantage. There are clear, bright details in the foreground and and a great contrast of colours. The very nicely shaped clouds are rightly given two thirds of the area. It is also a technically brilliant photo.

love this! A minimalist piece of Greek magic. All the blues are here and they stand out so beautifully when peppered with a little yellow. A superb observation and creative presentation. Wonderful!

Νάσο, μου αρέσει πολύ το εντονο χρώμα στο βαθυ μπλέ και φυσικά η πολυ ομορφη αντίθεση με τα σύννεφα και το κίτρινο..επίσης ειναι ωραιο που διάλεξες κάθετη παρουσίαση!!

Νάσο καλησπέρα,
πολύ όμορφο το στιγμιότυπο με το κίτρινο αγκυροβόλιο να κάνει το τέλειο κοντραστ με το μπλε της θάλασσας.Τα σύννεφα στον ουρανό ΄διακοσμούν΄ τέλεια το σκηνικό με το λαμπρό φως να κάνουν την φωτογραφία τόσο Καλοκαιρινή.

really like the frame division and the cloudscape here.
the yellow contrasts and compliments the otherwise blue frame beautifully.

Kalispera dear Nasos

Beautiful vertical frame, Rule of Thirds framing and light management. The yellow tones contrast beautifully with the azure of the sky and deep blue of the sea. The blue and white frame works well too. My compliments.
