Mirabello Gulf is an embayment of the Sea of Crete on the eastern part of Crete in present day Greece. This locale was important in prehistoric settlement of the island of Crete.
The coast of the Gulf of Mirabello was noted for its role in copper metallurgy development in the period circa 3000 BC. In the Late Minoan period, cities on high ground overlooking the Bay of Mirabello were founded as cities of refuge, including Karphi. Later in the Dorian Invasion, settlement occurred of other hilltop cities overlooking the Bay of Mirabello. An example of this phase of settlement was the city of Lato.

Hello Nasos,
I can almost feel the wind blowing this sail. The picture has loads of dynamism of the moment and the colors contrast lovely with each other. Good light and well managed. Good tight framing, maybe the sharpness could be slightly improved but this is easy to fix. Otherwise, nice picture of good quality.

Καλησπέρα Νάσο,
μια σκηνή όμορφη και συναρπαστική που κάνει αισθητό το δυναμισμό και την απόλαυση της ιστιοπλοϊας. Πολύ καλή η επιλογή του κάθετου κάδρου γι' αυτή τη σκηνή, εξαιρετική η αίσθηση του βάθους και η έκταση του πανέμορφου μπλε της θάλασσας. Μου αρέσει επίσης πολύ η λαμπρότητα του λευκού αλλά και, συνολικά, ο τρόπος που χειρίστηκες το δυνατό φως και τις αντιθέσεις. Συγχαρητήρια και ευχαριστώ!

Delicious as composition with that beautiful blue sea, contrasting with the soft blue of the sky, the boat is great and stands out as 3D, so radiant with its whiteness.
