View of Vlacherna Monastery.

The Vlacherena monastery was founded many centuries ago on a little rocky island close to the southern tip of the Kanoni peninsula. It was a women’s monastery and according to the marble plaque above the white traditional campanile, the present chapel was built in 1685. The oldest still existing funeral gravestone dates from 1758. In 1799, when Corfu was under the rule of democratic France, it was mentioned that the church belonged to the family of the famous greek composer N.C. Mantzaros.

Good morning Piotr,
Corfu is one interesting island with historyu, architecture and marine sceneries. I wish to explore this island one day.The white monastery and the houses up the slope behind from the pier in the FG, gave good scale to the picture.
Red flower would had given good contrast, but you just could take this from a bit left side perspective, in my humble opinion.

Hello Piotr,
The monastery is a nice building, especially the clock tower, and behind it we see a beautiful hill with small buildings and trees. The jetty and the small boats form a nice foreground, which is animated by the two persons and the bright red flowers. I might have considered cropping the poster for the seaside restaurant.

Hello Piotr,

Though out of focus, your photograph shows just how much a colourful feature affects the perception of a scene.
Those bright red flowers really prepare us for a beautiful place, though there are no other strong colours, we are hooked! We want to join the couple in blue, to explore this seaside setting, church and wider area.

Piotr, that old monastery was built very close to the sea. It is protected from the waves by rip raps. The couple walking on the pier and the flowers are well included. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

swietny pomysl ale troche nie jestem pewien co do tych kwiatow. Szczerze mowiac nigdy nie wiem co zrobic w takiej sytuacji: trudno o taka glebie ostrosci zby kwiaty byly ostre i widok w oddali, ale jesli wybrac jedno to co: kwiaty czy tlo?
Tutaj wybrales widok ale kwiaty troche sie rozmyly. Nie wiem jak do tego podejsc...
Szczerze mowiac i bez tych kwiatow to bylby bardzo ladny widok i ci ludzie w dopasowanych do siebie kolorystycznie ubraniach wnosza zycie i kolor do scenki...
Teraz po chwili namyslu zdalem sobie sprawe ze to miejsce widzialem niedawno na TE sfotografowane z gory!

Hello Piotr,
This monastery near the seafront is a rewarding subject for photographers in Corfu. I've seen it often on pictures here but so far never in this composition.
The text on the canvas on the right is sharp, but it didn't work with the flowers.
I like the composition and the inclusion of the red colour.
Beautiful background with many houses built on the green slope.

the chapel looks more greek than the venetian façades you posted before. a nice view with the flower and the couple in evidence and the beautiful chapel as the main subject. very beautiful compo.

Good use of a shallow dof with the red flowers oof to shift attention to the bg church and its belltowers. I enjoyed Corfu, although the sewers were a little smelly and the local buses were hard to work out. Several service routes were combined in just the one bus! I was expecting 3 separate buses so I missed the bus. Tfs!
