Photographer's Note
During the period of Turkish occupation the Christian people in Florina were a minority and they were not allowed by the Turks to found a church there. They succeeded in the end of 19th century and built a small church dedicated to St. Panteleimon in this place.
In 1960s a new church was built by stone-masons of the neighbouring villages Drosopigi and Flampouro. It is the cathedral of the town of Florina and the centre of Frorina, Prespes and Eordaia H. Diocese's administration.
