Foneas Beach is one of the most famous "unknown" beaches. Taking down a small path, you will find yourself in a small paradise, with bluegreen waters, white stones and big rocks offering natural shade.

Kardamili is a village by the sea, located in Messinian Mani, 35km south of Kalamata and has been an inhabited and active area for more than 3000 years. It is a charming place with history that still keeps its pre-Homeric name and is mentioned by Homer as one of the “seven well-governed and of good name cities” that Agamemnon would offer to Achilles as dowry in case he married one of his daughters.

Kardamili is a touristic bathing-resort with many sightseeings appreciated both by Greeks and foreigners.

You will find Foneas beach shortly after Kardamili, going to Areopolis. In a sudden turn, where there is a liitle bridge with yellow bars, you will find two roads, one of which is from asphalt. There you can go with your car, and find a place for parking with many trees.

Above the beach, there is a mobile snack-bar, where you can take cold drinks or snacks.
