Photographer's Note
Another picture from a wonderful holiday in Greece more than 10 years ago.
This is a drifting ship in Ornos.
Who knows if it's still there!?
PP note: scan from slide.

Hi Cristian,
Hahaha, you gave yourself away here with the name of the ship... You flipped this one! Why?! I loaded your shot in photoshop and flipping it back to the right makes it a nice picture as well.
Ahhh... You probably flipped the slide when scanning. I now see it's scanned from slide, but if you flip the shot you'll see that the actual name of the boat is 'IPAPADIL'.
I like it, but it's a bit soft. I have the same issue with scanning slides. I now got a Minolta scanner that focusses on the slide, which makes the sharper. Slides can shape a bit differently, and that makes a big difference when scanning. If your scanner has the option to focus on the slide, I'd use it despite the fact that scanning will take a bit longer!
So yes, an interesting shot, but some post processing (flip, smart sharpen and contrast mainly) would have made it better!
Thanks for sharing!
Greetings, Dennis

Hi Cristian,
There are several places where you can come accross a juxtaposition like this one here - nice fairy-tale like surroundings and an object of industrial past. Somehow, it appeals to me - maybe beacuse it is so striking?
Anyway, lovely shot, but I think that black and white would convey a beeter atmosphere.
Cheers,
Kris

Bonsoir Cristian
joli cadrage qui fait apparaitre une belle profondeur à la compo. J'aime également les couleurs. Bravo.

I actually prefer this version of the photo compared to the flipped workshop. The contrasts in the WS are quite harsh and although more detail is brought out in the hull and shallows it feels almost as if the poor vessel has been superimposed on the background.
On a personal level I think a view like this benefits from a slight blur, after all, we're in a salty air environment here. Eitherway it is a beautiful hull, and I am curious to learn more about this mystery machine... :)

Hi Chrristian,
beautiful ghost ship. It's not always easy to scan a slide.
Most of the comments are already made. There's a black defect on the right upper part of the scan. Colors are good but not that great. So, I tried a WS to see what it looks like in BW.

Ciao Cristian ,
molto bella e suggestiva foto , mi dispiace che l'hai postata riflessa , mi sono permesso di fare un WS e riportare le cose normali , ho aggiunto una passata di maschera di contrasto .
succede quando si scannerizzano dia .
bel lavoro comunque
