Photographer's Note

"The Umbrellas" is a work of art by George Zoggolopoulos and it stands on the New Promenade of the beautiful city of Thessaloniki, since 1997 when the city was Cultural Capital of Europe. It has become somekind of a modern symbol of the city.

πανέμορφη φωτογραφία χάρη στα υπέροχα χρώματα και τις διαβαθμίσεις τους. Είναι πολύ ωραίο το πώς ζωντανεύει το γκρίζο της θάλασσας από τη θερμή αντανάκλαση του ορίζοντα. Μου αρέσει πολύ που η διαφάνεια των ομπρελών χρωματίζεται από τον ουρανό και που το σώμα της φωτογράφου ακολουθεί τις διαγωνίους σα να γίνεται μέρος του έργου. Η φωτογραφία ανεδεικνύει μοναδικά το αέρινο έργο τέχνης.

Aha...Beautiful one indeed. The tones and colors could have only done by you. Even if I don't like that photographer in the frame still I find it a very good one. The distant ship adds very much to the frame.

It would be difficult to get a better background to present this work of art.

You've framed the sun carefully between two poles, the sky is stunning and the play with the transparent umbrellas and their silhouette is really attractive.

ho già visto su TE quest'opera d'arte dove gli ombrelli sono protagonisti.
Ma la luce del tramonto rende la tua immagine molto particolare.
Il cielo è davvero spettacolare e fa anche da ottimo sfondo.
Il controluce crea un bell'effetto silhouette sugli ombrelli.
L'inserimento della ragazza fotografa, dà un tocco di vita alla scena.

What a spectacular scene, and photographed to perfection. The timing with the setting sun, the container carriers on the horizon near the setting sun, the translucent umbrellas, and the photographer presented in silhouette could not be any better. Ever since I visited Thessaloniki in 2006 and traveled to the tomb of Phillip of Macedon (Vergini) then found the street where my grandfather Ismail Hakki and his childhood friend Mustafa Kemal grew up, the city has become one of my favorite places on earth. I will deposit this image in "PARADISE ON EARTH".

No conocia esta obra pero no me extraña que se haya convertido en el simbolo de la ciudad, pues es realmente original y muy hermosa.
Tu composicion es soberbia y enfatiza aun mas el conjunto, con ese bellisima puesta de sol, debe ser un lugar ideal para los amantes de la fotografia, la muesra la vemos en la imagen que has captado de esa persona buscando su encuadre.

This is superb. Even without the photographer, the photo would be a work of art. But with the inclusion it adds interest and a sense of scale to all these umbrellas. My favourite part is of course the sunset, the colour palette is extraordinary. Congratulations, as usual, your work is unique and superbly executed.
