Photographer's Note

This is a photo of the beautiful Lake Plastira in the region of Karditsa, in central Greece.

Lake Plastira, or lake Tavropos as you may find it in some maps, is situated northwest of Karditsa. It is an artificial lake which was built after the second world war, and it was conceived by General Nikolaos Plastiras at 1945. It was completed at the late 50's and has then been a natural paradise.
It is a very popular place for visiting in weekends amongst Greek travellers and there are some really good hotels surrounding the lake. There also a few beautiful villages around the lake, with traditional architecture and cuisine.
This photo was shot at the west part of the lake this weekend, when I finally managed to visit it and live an unforgettable journey!
