Boat Float, a photo from Samos, North Aegean

Photographer's Note

A large black boat in Pythagorion Harbour. The water is so clear that the boat almost appears to be floating in mid air. I wonder how the pot plant survives when the boat is offshore in rough waters? This charming coastal town of Samos Island has around 1,500 inhabitants.

Hello Chris,
Among my fondest memories of Greek islands is the marvellously clear water. It is evident in this photo, which also offers us some fine blue and red details.

Hello Chris,
A great close-up of the boat floating in the greenish water. The red paint and the wooden parts stands out nicely from the calm water surface as well.

your photo brought memories into my mind
from Samos island..There I had the best
summer holidays...My daughter studied
at the university of Aegean so twice a year
i was there...a wonderful green island
a little bit away from Greece and my town
Volos but perfect for living there....
this photo is unique with the

A charming town but the bus ride there can be very scary - my wife hid her face all the way down! A good photo of the boat in the ultra clear water (for you floating effect).

Lovely angle on this quite original looking boat. Indeed the clear water seems to glow under the boat. All the small details of the boat reveal that the main purpose of it is having good time both on the water and harbour.

I have seen it a couple of times: it is always a great phenomenon to admire, sometimes not easy to capture.
Interesting composition here with the fragment of boat adding a nice geometry.
