Photographer's Note
The gold it's in the...
Come on my friends, let's make for the hills
the say there's gold and I'm looking for thrills
you can get your hands on whatever we find
'cause I've only come along for the ride.
Well you go your way and I'll go mine
I don't care if we get there on time
everybody's searching for something, they say
I'll get my kicks on the way
Over the mountains, across the sea
who knows what may be waiting for me
I could sail forever to strange sounding names
faces of people and places don't change
All I have to do is just close my eyes
to see the seagulls wheeling in the far distant skies
and I wanna tell you, all I wanna say
is count me in on the journey, don't expect me to stay.

Hello Thomas. I like the overall mood and composition. The sepia tone is well succeeded to render the feeling of solitude and quietness of the place, as if it was out of Time.

Hi Thomas, inspiring composition! The bird's the key player, and the other elements are superb both in foreground and in the fog. The big ripples/waves on both left and right are extraordinary. Thanks and regards, Daniel
ps - the connection to the PF song is perfect, it's a shame I missed that album, now I have to get it.

Hello Thomas,
A perfectly perspective through net in foreground, I like always of a good misty picture, but here a lighthouse and boat in background give a total image, the real eyes catcher is certainly the bird.
Thanks for visite and sharing.
Have a nice weekend,

Hi Thomas,
A short delay to take a small pause and now I'm here to make my usual sharing critiques and posts to Te Members Posts.
Thank you very mich for your visits, personal views and captures like this excelent and nicely captured that you present to us from this beautiful moment and detailed atmosphere with the bird flying in a great point of view and enquadrement.
Good angle of view with good light handling, perspective, graphism with a diagonal and horizon sky approach with that lovely alone boat at distance. Excelent color soft tones with the near surrounding light mixing view.
Splendid work, great eye catch, artwork and congratulations.
All the best to you and have a happy weekend.

Hallo Thomas!
A good photo doesn't need much - and this is a good photo! It transports nothing spectacular, nothing loud, nothing extraordinary - but an atmosphere...
Very, very nice shot!

Such a simple composition but so effective. The choice of sepia works really well to add to the mysterious atmosphere. The centrally placed bird is a terrific addition

This is very poetic one.
The way you composed this one is mind blowing.
The boat and the ship in the far , the diagonally going fencing are adding lot of depth to this.
The PoV of the bird is fantastic.
Great work I add this to my favourite

Hi Thomas,
Beautifull composition, the boat and the fare on the background almost covered by the mist, the fence placed in digonal and the bird in the center. The sepia also works very well here. Just think maybe there's a little too much empty sky on the top...
Cheers,
Flavia

Hi Thomas,
A very fine capture, with great ambience and clarity of detail. I would have cropped the upper sky a little for heightened impact. However, the overall shot is first rate and works very well in this format. One of your best thus far, Thomas. Congratulations.

This is a nice minimalist piece. I love the colouring in particular as it gives the picture a good mood. The bird is a magical catch and adds greatly to the composition. The misty atmosphere is brilliant too. Well done.

Cool shot. Very avantgarde in a way. The flying bird is a fantastic lone elemtns set against the sky and sea. I wonder if a bit of an off center framing of the bird wouldnt have strengthened the image.

Hi Thomas,
Very good photo with a great atmosphere and nice "Pink Floyd note" (think I started listening to their music in the eartly 70s and still have some vinyl albums from those days!).
The light and exposure are very good but I find remarkable your "photgrapher's eye" for seizing the moment like this.

Hi Thomas, Nice minimalist composition made up of very little elements drowning in the fog. It all look very quiet. The bird flying through surely tries to be as discreet as possible. Placing it in the middle of the frame has an unsettling effect as if it suddenly cried out a high shriek.

Hi Thomas, I suspected from your username that you must be a fan of the Floyd - now I see it's true (me too, my home town is just outside Cambridge). Not sure how I've missed your gallery during the past 4 months. Please forgive me that oversight. There have been many postings on TE recently featuring birds. But this one - a single bird - flying over a foggy Thessaloniki - is the best. Simple, beautifully composed, perfect exposure and toning. It has to be a favourite of mine too. Stephen
