Photographer's Note

Fountain, Central square of Filiatra.

It was ordered in 1871 (Christos Karavitis was the mayor at this age) in Firenze with the care of our Italian origin of fellow-citizen doctor Aggelos Mainos who had undertaken also the order of Clock in factory of Milan. All these work did not become with expenses of state but with expenses of citizens of Filiatra. It constitutes the jewel of square, and pride of Filiatra city. Is manufactured from cast iron, and his decoration is constituted by ancient Greek deities as Dionysus, Neptune and other. Is considered monument of infinity good and it is governed in the Inland Revenue of antiquities, which recently finished his maintainance.
