Photographer's Note
Not my most perfect photo in a technical sense: it exhibits some motion blur. However, it is my favourite from that day. In the WS you can see other grey herons.

Hello György,
I guess it's not easy to completely avoid some very slight motion blur on a great heron ready for take-off. It's really as sharp as I could ever ask for. Besides, it stands out very clearly against the fairly dark green background, and the diagonal branch is a very strong bonus.

Gert

Hi Gyorgy, i know how isn't easy to take good pics with an heron taking off in a big distance, your pic is excellent, just a bit dark but the sharpness is very good, like the more easy stand-by of bird in the WS. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Gyorgy
I really like the third image. This image is nice when I looked at it enlarged. maybe more contrast with colors. Still very well done. I did do a workshop with your great image if you don't mind.

Hi Gyorgy
Maybe not quite perfect timing but the bird taking off is sharp enough for us to appreciate it. Good use of your long lens.
cheers

Hello Gyorgy,
It is much easier to obtain a fine, sharp photograph of a bird, as demonstrated in your w/s, but you have overcome most of the technical difficulties to get this heron in flight. I love how we have opposing diagonals between the line of of the ascending heron and the branch from which it is alighting!
Maybe you did some pp, which we all do at times, to add light to the heron as a contrast to the surrounding darkness.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Gyorgy
Exquisite lighting, being the best part of this shot portraying the grey heron in it's Element as she's taking off. It's beautifully timed capture.
Best regards

Hi Gyorgy,
Perfectly timed shot of the heron taking off. Sidelight gives good contrast against darkish green background. I think exposure time was just right showing most of the bird sharp while wings reveal motion.

Hello Gy,
I missed these photos here.
Did you take them from a boat? Or was there a birdwatching hut?
Fantastic timing.
Perfect clear and sharp captures in the WS.
Your main photo has an excellent composition.
Best regards, Paul
