Photographer's Note
please take a look at the TE Beta version, its much better overall. STODVARFJORDUR GRAFFITI.
This photo may not get much attention or love on TE, but I want to continue showing scenes from my latest Iceland trip that are off the beaten path.
This is certainly not your typical tourist photo, and its from a small town on the eastern Fjords that most people wouldn't travel to.
It took me only about 2 min to drive in and out of this town, it's that small. But it packed a punch as there were several photo opps here.
I liked this abandoned building with the graffiti art on it, combined with the mountains in the bg, actually, I believe that's a blown volcano, you can see the circular dome thats cut out of it after the explosion. For scale, can you see the man walking past in the middle of the scene?
I have other views of this scene, but this was the only one with the man walking into it. Anyways, I hope you like something different. The map view will show where I took this.

Hello Craig
After discovering the man walking on the rocks of the dam I better understand the position of the graffiti-man. “What is he doing there?” he express with his two hands in the air. That makes this not only a LOVEly picture, but also a humoristic one.
Excellent work, have a good weekend. Groet Rob

Bonjour Craig,
Le propriétaire de ce hangar veut probablement chasser les esprits à moins que ce ne soit les voleurs. Par contre les couleurs sont vives dans un environnement qui en manque un petit peu.
Amicalement

Hello Craig,
You have come a long was as a photographer since joining TE, now that you out of several choices select the photo with a person included. ;-) I spotted him immediately, but I must say that was an unexpected place to find him. This is a very original combination of gritty street-shot and magnificent Icelandic scenery. Who would expect this kind of graffiti in a place like this? The red face and hands on the white wall really stand out in this environment. Some would hate it, but I think it looks fantastic. I have no complaints on the technical side either. ;-)
Have a nice weekend,
Gert

The funny depiction upon the small house is in great contrast to the marvelous scenery, Craig, and yet I saw the man, not knowing what he was really up for.
The mountains are awesome scenery, and the combination is well shown in fine light condition.
Have a nice Friday,
Ike

Hello Craig, an unexpected place to find graffiti, but on studying it, the upward open position of the hands could be asking us to enjoy the scenery, as we look beyond the modern building.
It is all very interesting.
The man was a gift! He is so tiny in the composition but he makes an excellent focal point.
Thanks for the map; good to see where you were.
Regards Jean.

Hello Craig,
Great photo and excellent composition, the abandoned building with the remarkable graffiti is very well placed on the right hand side and makes such an intriguing contrast with the amazing landscape in the background, the shapes of the mountains are incredibly beautiful.

Hi, Craig.
Well, if I can find the man walking on the stone wall and that seems a bit small in comparison to the grandeur of the landscape, which has to spare for my taste that graffiti industrial construction.
Good perspective of the image, very pleasing to the eye.
Colorful, sharp and bright are captured excellently.
Very good composition, magnificent presentation.
Have a good weekend.
Warm greetings.
Luis.

Hi Ccaig
Nice wide view so well organised and everything seems to work fine to strike the eyes. The mid ground and splash of red especially is influential. You have managed the exposure and details subtly. Excellent capture, tfs

Hello, Craig!
Not easy to find the man walking on the rocks at first sight, and he is a good scale to the image. The grafitti is really curious here, it is something we usually see in the big cities. The bright colors of the house make a great contrast with the beautiful view of the mountains in the background. Beautiful job!

Hello Craig,
I really like this one! Who would expect to find such interesting art in rural Iceland? With the tiny man walking by, and the beautiful landscape in the background, this is an intriguing scene. Iceland seems to have a fun and quirky side to it. I wonder what the red man is all about!

Hello Craig
The man walking along the retaining wall was much easier to spot than Gert's 15th white pigeon, lol. The red graffiti figure sets up a great warm cold color contrast with the blue tones and the dramatic backdrop of mountains looks impressive. Tfs!

Ciao Craig
originale accostamento tra montagne e capannone con graffiti, soprattutto considerando di essere in Islanda.
Originale anche il cammino dell'uomo su questo muro di pietre.
Se volevi proporre qualcosa di diverso, ci sei riuscito molto bene.
Saluti
Carlo

Hi Craig,
The wideness of the area is cretaing depth. The point of view is showing the details of the mountains and of the building. The light is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.
