Photographer's Note
John just asked me how am I still posting photos and writing critiques when we just had a newborn baby 6 days ago...simple answer really...let me explain.
First of all, I have taken almost a month off of work to help out at home, so I'm always here. But the main reason why I can still work on TE is that newborns mostly sleep. They wake up when they're hungry, change their diaper, feed them, then they lay down for another 2 or 3 hours. It actually gives me plenty of time to sneak in some TE critiques 5 or 10 at a time.
When our baby is more active, well, then it will limit my online time haha.
So lets continue with my Iceland photos, I still have dozens more to share. Lighthouses have always peeked my attention, so when I spotted this cigarette style lighthouse from the main road, I had to go explore. It's located on the far east fjords, way off the tourist roads. The closest town is called Stodvarfjordur, so that's the one I put in the info. It's the very first photo from this small town, clearly off the beaten path.
I tried getting inside the front door, but it was locked very very strongly. Too bad. As you can see from the landscape, its very rugged, real, rough, unforgiving, it was the perfect location for a lighthouse. The map feature shows where the lighthouse is, it's not exact, but it's very close.
There are 2 more in the WS if you're interested. Thanks for looking!

Hi Craig.
First of all, I congratulate you and your spose the gift of love, a newborn baby.
Now, this lighthouse, are you sure it's standing on our planet? Yeah, to me, it looks like from some of the scientfiction movies of the 60's and 70's. Kind of dramatic looking landscape along the rocky shore and, there is a seagull approaching right in the middle of the frame. Well seen and presented scene, tfs.

Hi Craig
Keep the good parenting going. My son is expecting his first in 6 weeks so he's about to experience it all too.
Now your photo - a none too spectacular lighthouse but an incredibly spectacular setting. Beautifully captured and proccesed.
Cheers

Bonjour, cher Craig,

hello, Dad Craig,
Nice to read about your first experiences as a father. You are lucky that Oakley sleeps so much. But it will not be always like this, hahaha. I read this with envy, I would love to be a grandma for the second time.
This lighthouse is really original, I have never seen anything similar. Pity, it was impossible to climb. But you had a drone, so you could see the landscape from above anyway. Magnificent all the pictures.
All the best

Hello Craig,
What a great lighthouse, I really like its quite modern design, which makes such an amazing contrast with both the colours and the shapes of the rocks in the foreground and the mountains further away. You had a brilliant side light here as well.

Ha! Ha! Craig, I have an impression of you being spotted by the authorities, when you arrive in a country, as being that man who attempts to enter isolated buildings! Just watch that man ... he has an agenda!!!
It is a very striking photograph, though. Well composed, as always and with immediately recognisable contrasts between the rough, irregular rocky f/g and the smooth, elevated texture of the lighthouse; sort of natural v manmade. The lighthouse stands out, empirically against the blue sky.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Craig,
I suppose the authorities responsible for the safety at sea had every reason to keep that door safely bolted so no crazy persons could get inside. ;-)
It's a striking photo which could also have been a rocket that just landed on another planet (surprisingly full of water). In a way WS #2 shows a nicer scenery, but this is the most interesting photo.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hi Craig,
Quite a tight and modern one that fits perfectly in this vulcanic landscape. Looks like a schene in an old SF movie.
Thanks and regards,
Gerrit

Ciao Craig
questo è un faro molto lineare nella forma, semplice, ma sicuramente efficace.
Le sue forme si staccano completamente dal territorio circostante e il contrasto è molto forte e interessante.

Hi Craig,
The mountains are framing well the building. The point of view is showing the details of the lighthouse and of the mountains. The light is giving good rendering of the colors. Have a nice day.

congratulations, Craig, learnt you became a father, great times ahead.
This photo show a modern light-tower against the rough terrain, barren mountains and beautiful blue bay.
Just few days ago, saw a documentary on TV about glaciers and icebergs disappearing in Iceland, global warming takin a toll on people and their livelihood there, fishes are migrating and only tourism still a good business there.
My best regards,
Ike

Modern architecture of the lighthouse, all lighthouses work automatically today, so they don't need a lighthouse keeper, a very good photo

Hello Craig, first of all belated congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of your son.
This must be the plainest lighthouse that I have ever seen! It certainly contrasts with its rocky surroundings.
The view looking away from the lighthouse is excellent. And yes, the shot with the reflection in the rock pool is good too.
Thanks for sharing, regards, Jean.

Hello Craig,
I must admit that I've also wondered how you will do it to remain so active on TE.
We will all love it if you find the ideal balance to be a father and husband and still make time for TE but I guess it won't be that easy.
Is Oakley already starting to love lighthouses, abandoned buildings and remote landscapes? :)
It will perhaps become a part of his upbringing, but children can sometimes go in a completely different direction than parents expect and that is also normal.
Again, good luck and much fun with your son.
The lighthouse looks very modern, not the most beautiful one for me but the landscape is fantastic. High mountains with sharp peaks bordering the ocean! Great!
Best regards, Paul

Hello Craig ,
First , congratulations to the happy parents !
This is an original light house in a fantastic Iceland landscape . The composition is excellent , but may be the framing is a little too tight on the top .

Hello Craig
You are a lucky guy because there are also a lot of babies crying for two hours instead of sleeping two hours, but I must admit that two caring, loving parents usually have well-behaved babies.
I am a bit jealous of this beautiful photo or rather the beautiful weather. I still have to go to Iceland again, hoping that we will see the sun shining there.
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Hello Craig,
Firstly, congratulations on you newborn baby! :) Secondly, its a nice landscape. Though I usually imagine lighthouses as older buildings, but this one somehow fits into this landscape really well.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello, Craig!
First of all, congratulations for your baby, I didn't know about that! Beautiful view of this lighthouse that makes a very nice contrast against the deep blue sky and with the dark tones of the ground! Excellent light, colors and sharpness! Wonderful job!

Craig, that beautiful lighthouse is located on a rocky coast in front of the sea. It is used to signal the seashore and the reefs to the ships. I like the bare mountains in the bg, they look wild. Good light.
