Photographer's Note
A drive up a valley ended with a short hike up a small narrow ravine where this small waterfall was situated. Personally I'm not convinced about the qualities of this picture!, if there are any? What do You think?

Hard question you are asking because it's a very special pic you have here. I like it mainly because of it's abstract feel. If it wasn't for your description I wouldn't have seen at first sight that there was a fall. But the title is right, there is something very powerful about it. So never mind the sharpness, the colors, the composition, etc... I think that it is mainly a photo that you can view with your feelings and not with your brain. Yesss... I like it.

I agreee with Ninadev that this is a photo that you can view with your hart and the brain can be left out. :) I like the photo as it is, a bit of an abstract but still you can see that it is a water fall. But, since you asked i'll go in to some technical stuff anyway.
To start with the tonal range is quit good. Even though you have a lot of dark and bright areas you also have a lot of tones in between. That is good. The fact that you have a large area that is very dark and a large area that is very bright makes the picture very dynamic, nothing wrong with that. The big dark area also has a lot of structure, intresting. The waterfall is a bit over exposed but otherwise this is a really nice and intresting picture.
Updated to add 2 well deserved points (was out yesterday)
