Photographer's Note
Back to Iceland. I'm really not sure if this is Eyjafjallajokull again or Vatnajokull; I think it's Vatnajokull, going by the huge ice sheet behind the obvious glacier moving down the valley. But this is taken from a different position on the Ring Road, with a huge field of flowering Lupins stretching out like a carpet before the camera. One sees very few trees in Iceland - and they're very small - but in June there are millions of lupins colouring the countryside in nearly every corner of the country.

Hello, Andrew!
Even with the bad weater, you got this landscape with beautiful colors helped by the flowers in the foreground, which also gives very good depth to the view! Wonderful place and composition! Very nice job!

Hello Andrew,
This has been a learning curve, I had no idea that lupins were wild flowers in Iceland. They make a spectacular f/g to this wild, icy scene, though their blue hues are not out of place.
You have composed the scene with great skill, the rich f/g making a strong contrast with the rear 'third' of rocky, snow laden outcrops and matching sky.
My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Hello Andrew
What a spectacular view, made more special by the foreground lupins, which in fact seem to extend to infinity! Your wide angle lens has delivered an interesting bend to the curvature of the globe. And there was me thinking the Earth was flat. TE teaches me about the world again!

Olá, Andrew!
Foto incrível, as cores e a nitidez são fantásticas! As flores criam um padrão muito bonito. Há um contraste de ideias entre esse campo florido e o fundo, com as montanhas nevadas e o céu carregado.
Bom trabalho!

Hello Andrew,
What a wonderful large carpet of yellow and blue lupins from your point of view up to the gap where we see the glacier.
The sky may look threatening but I learn from your note that June is probably the best month to visit Iceland.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Andrew,
We have friends visiting Iceland at the moment and it made me curious about more images... This one is so lovely, reminding us of landscapes from Norway, especially the lupins growing everywhere and giving a pink or violet touch of colours to any image! :)
Thanks for this beautiful and atmospheric capture!
Amicalement,
Viviane
