Please please please right click and open the photo in a different screen, its SO much sharper and with finer details.
I promise that I didn't enhance any of the blue colors in this shot. The colors are true and even better in person.
If you ever go to Iceland, make sure you stop off at Reykjahlid and its Mud Pits and Geo Thermal Flat Lands. It smells really really bad, but its well worth the effort.
If you have been to Iceland and didn't stop here, well, i'm sorry, you truly missed out.
On one side of the street are massive flat lands with mud pits, up the road a bit, only a few min drive, are these Geo Thermal lakes in this amazing blue. There are signs all around saying do not touch, if you do you will get burned, its that hot.
I was amazed I was the ONLY one here, everyone else was over at the Mud Pits. My benefit I guess.
Hope you like this..I have several more.

Hi Craig
Iceland is still on my to visit list. Superb photo with your genuine blues. The water does look cold but no you say - burning hot.
Cheers
Ian
And re Kakadu. A tour would have been the only option for Malgo but for you - don't even consider it. You need several days. Just lick up a rental car in Darwin. The roads are fine and there is a choice of accommodation. We don't do tours unless there is no other option.
Hope you make it down this way sometime.

Hello Craig,
So mud was more popular with tourists than a blue lake :)
The landscape looks amazing and you presented it in a very good composition. The smaller rocks in the foreground add more dept to the photo.
Beautiful clouds make a great backdrop.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Craig, I must confess that I missed this place but I was in so many other interesting places with the geothermal activity. I like the blue of the lake. Nice view of the mountain, probably a volcano. Lovely composition.

Hello Craig,
The blue tones don't look enhanced at all, in fact they seem very discreet and natural, but maybe it could be a matter of monitors. It's a fine scenery and not "littered" with tourists. The smoke from the chimney across the lake joins the nice clouds.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Craig,
What an amazing view of this fantastic place. The lake looks beautiful with wonderful light blue colours and a nice pattern of the tiny waves. The hilly landscape in the background is also lovely and you were lucky with a very pleasant and clear sunlight and some charming clouds in the blue sky.

Hi Craig,
The scenery is impressive. The point of view is allowing me to admire the details of the Geo Thermal Lake. The quality of the light beautifies the colours. Have a nice day.

Hi Craig,
If I didn't know and trust you I would have thought you'd played around with the blue in this picture! But, of course I know you didn't! :)
It is indeed remarkable to think that this water is actually hot as well as being such a wonderfully deep blue colour. And the contrasts of the blue of water and sky with the pale rocks and light coloured land are remarkable and very beautiful. And what a gorgeous sky you have here too with those light puffy clouds!
A fabulous photograph with glorious light, fine colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.
Beautiful!
You take care.
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. Just a thought - what's that tall chimney with smoke or steam coming out of it across the water? Is that some geothermal station? It's surely not some coal or oil burning facility here?

Hello Craig,
I haven't been to Iceland but if I ever did, I would take your advice.
This looks like an amazing place!
The pale blue of the sky is picked up perfectly in the water, whilst the white rocks, in the f/g, mimic the clouds in the sky.
The limited colour palette really adds to the overall impression.
Was it windy?
The top of the water looks to be spraying up and the steam/smoke is billowing towards the clouds.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Craig, this obviously brings back happy memories for you.
It's a very interesting scene; I haven't seen an Icelandic view like this before.
August in Iceland, and a beautiful blue sky with lovely cloud formations.
Excellent sharp shot.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Craig,
Wonderful Icelandic landscape from a very remote region (and still by the main road, I see after checking the map). Lonely power plant kind of emphasizes emptiness. Blue color looks great. Slightly darker exposure could have given even stronger effect I guess.

Hello Craig,
The light-blue water color is a result of melted ice combined with volcanic soil, therefore the color looks as over-lightened.
Yet, this smell we also have in the Dead-Sea, almost certain about.
Moon-face earth formation, well shown.
Have va nice sunday,
Ike

Hello Craig,
You must have nice weather to make all that blue come out the best.
Iceland is also worth while under a grey cloud cover and even some rain, but the specific blue is less striking.
Among the much visited tourist spots in Iceland there are also many lesser-known gems to discover.
Excellent work
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Craig, that lake has an attractive color. The water must be tepid compared to other lakes in the surroundings not warmed by the hot springs. The volcanic activity explains this phenomenon in this sub polar climate. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hi Craig.
A wonderful panoramic view of this species of bay with beautiful blue waters of the sea, the cut off of the coast with these rocks and the mountains in the background, create a landscape setting of great beauty, the sky also puts its bonus.
The color and light management are magnificent, highlighting the beauty and sharpness of the image.
Very well done. I like it
May you enjoy the end of Sunday.
Very best regards.
