Light spot on green, a photo from Sudhur-Mulasysla, Asturland

Photographer's Note

One of the most beautiful churches of Iceland (excluding, may be, only Husavik) stayed in the small town of Stodvarfjordur. Only 236 people live here. The town, besides church, famous also after its citizen Petra Svensdottir, who spent many years collecting the interesting and nice stones at the hills around. The collection became so big that stone museum has been esteblished.

The shot was taken right after the strong shower, when the first sunbeam was appered. Hope you enjoy the picture.

Nice shot, well composed, good colors / sharpness. Clouds make great climat. Photo could be a bit bigger, nevertheless it looks really great.

Lovely little church against good light and dramatic clouds. Steep slope and low angle gives building some extra grandeur. It's good that the clouds were going away, so you didn't get wet.

Hello Denis, there is a beautiful contrast here between the well illuminated church and the dark clouds behind. The low perspective makes the clouds feel more powerful and menacing. It is as if they are about to decend from the sky and engulf the pretty building.
