Photographer's Note
This is Rossnowlagh Beach in County Donegal, taken on a very cold Autumn day. There is a lovel Hotel on the beach where you can go and sit in front of the fire and drink something to warm the cockles of your heart. They make a great Irish Coffee or four.
In my Workshop is a photo taken a few minutes later and with a different White Balance. You can see a wider view of the beach in a previous photo I have posted at:
http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Ireland/North/Donegal//photo1205437.htm
The name Ros Neamhlach in Irish means "heavenly headland". The closest large town to it would be Ballyshannon, although it is only a short drive from the historic Donegal Town.
I dedicate this photo to Mariusz (MKamionka) who lives in Dublin. Sadly, we narrowly missed meeting each other and I hope that one day soon we can catch up.

Hello Dear Lisa,
This is a surreal scene, with a puzzling structure for the waves. They seem to be smooth mounds, or gentle ripples, without any crests. The vertical format you've chosen works especially well.
Warm regards,

Hi Lisa,
A nice composition. Numerous horizontal likes and finally the nice horizon with golden light and clouds.
Have a nice time

Dearest,
You mean to tell me that small speck of land on the extreme camera left of frame is the Headland, hrruuumph.
It's a lovely shot, the colours of the sunset/sunrise are beautiful.
And how about the ripples in the foreground, superb.
I like this much better than your workshop shot, I think this one looks a lot more natural.
As usual you do the vertical frame so well, and your exposures are as usual spot on.
Avagoodweekend.
Love ya

Quelle belle photo!

Lovely colours, light and depth for this shot: I like the way the clouds are framing the sun and the lines created by the wet sand of the beach. Good shot.

Bonjour Lisa,

Hello Lisa,
A change of locale for this splendid offering. I like the calm and serene atmosphere and the use of the slow shutter speed to produce this wonderful calming effect on the incoming waves. The composition follows classical lines in the placement of the horizon. I wonder if you also took a shot that gave due dominance to that wonderful sky. As to the workshop, I think I prefer this version with the darker and perhaps more subtle tones.
I have now learnt that the fracture is probably the result of a much older injury that was aggravated by the accident. Problem is I have no real idea when and where I suffered the original injury. Anyway, I am now wearing a lumbar belt; the back is expected to get better gradually of its own accord without any need for surgical intervention. Hope you enjoyed more than a pint of two of the black stuff during your visit to Ireland. Do you have Irish ancestry in your blood as well as Italian; could be an interesting mix:-)

Ciao Lisa,
immagine dall'atmosfera molto romantica.
Mi piace l'ondulazione delle onde che fanno apparire l'acqua come pennellate di pittura ad olio.
Well done and TFS!

The perspective is very long in that vertical framing. The eyes follow every little waves one after the other until they reach the sun.
Have a great day.

Hi Lisa,
I am speechless. The photo itself is breathtaking enough and then I saw the dedication...
I feel honored that you have selected such a beautiful photo for this occassion.
Sometimes I am on a beach and I complain that there is nothing to photograph: here I am proven wrong: if you have a good eye you can make an excellent composition with a bare sand, sea and clouds.
Well I am less lucky because the coast in Dublin is facing east so take similar photo I would need to wake up early in the morning :(
This photo is truly spectacular. Incredible depth of the field from such simple but stunning foreground up to the horizon and clouds above it.
I really admire how original and "clean", undisturbed is here the foreground. The horizontal lines are incredible with varying amount of the reflection. Wide angle lens, I guess, allowed this incredible effect, it enhanced the feeling of space.
Interestingly there seem to be some people in the water which gives a sense of the space.
The sky itself is fantastic, the best any photographer could wish for.
I am sorry we did not have the chance to meet in Eire.
I plan to win lottery tonight and than first place I would go is Australia. So with a little help from Above, we can meet this year yet :)
Have a good weekend,
Mariusz

Hi Lisa
a photo full of form and texture.
the ripples are awesome!
in the horizontal format, i think it may have been even better as the ripples would be even more exagerated from left to right...what do you think?
I also admire this one because as we scroll up the frame, we see different forms and shapes, whereas in the horizontal that wouldn't be the case..so there's postives for both formats.
lovely light and atmosphere..really like this one
cheers

Ciao Lisa,
Ottima qualità tecnica, come sempre.
Un abbraccio

Hi Lisa,
The first thing I wanted to say on this, and a general comment on your entire gallery, is that you give such beautiful names to your images. I tend to just name them as they are, e.g. Big rock on beach, where you put more thought and artistry into your naming convention, and it make the scenes go much more powerful.
Just like this, a beautiful vision with the soft ripples in the foreground and the most beautiful of skies beyond. As it fades from gold to black as we go down the picture, it creates a magical sense. As always,a gorgeous shot.
Happy sunday
Noel
