Galway Boy (How Do I Play This Guitar?)

As promised, with this photo and the ones in the WS, I present some impressions of the lively city centre of Galway, full of music. The title is inspired by Ed Sheeran’s song Galway Girl from his latest album, whose music video was also shot in the streets of Galway (including the one where I took this photo).

Sitting on his skateboard, this Galway Boy was actually playing like this with his guitar lying on his lap and he was quite good at it. He was just unfortunate that I managed to take a photo of him during a short break in his playing, right when he had this puzzled look on his face as if he saw this guitar for the very first time and didn't know what to do with it.

The photo was taken on the corner of High Street and Mainguard Street. It was early Saturday night and the city centre was very lively and full of both individual and groups of buskers. Two more impressions of the Galway music scene can be found in the workshop:
- WS1: One guitarist and two bands playing traditional Irish music in High Street.
- WS2: In Eyre Square, a young man was doing a step dancing performance. He soon started teaching a group of young teenage boys, trying to get them to start step dancing too, which they did reluctantly (and stopped immediately when their teacher looked away at some of their friends).
