Photographer's Note

Just 5 km from the town of Gort (co. Galway) in Kilmacduagh lies the remains of a 7th century church with a tower dating from the 10th century. This Monastery was plundered in the 13th century.
The monks used this towers as a watchtower and place of refuge during Viking raids .The doorway (about 7 meters above the ground) was only contactable with a ladder and during a raid ,the monks would pull the ladder into the tower after them

Een prachtige ruïne Arthur, en de nota is ook goed, schitterend idee om de ladder op te trekken, zou nu niet gaan, de foto heeft ook een schitterende hemel met deze wolken, en echt het kleur uit de streek ginder, ook de goede hoek gekozen, maar ik hou meer van uw foto in de regio Arthur.
Goed werk nochtans.

Mooie foto!
Zo vaak je niet een kerk zonder dak. Wat oud, 7e eeuw! Grappig dat het een schuilplaats was tijdens plunderingen van vikingen.

Goede compositie, maar de foto zou misschien een tikkeltje scherper kunnen. Ik vind de stenen en de graven wat onduidelijk. Maar afgezien van dat: erg mooie, maar vooral intressante foto.
