Photographer's Note

Happy Valentine day to you.

Not all the people celebrate it here in the Czech Republic. Before Velvet revolution it was unknown to us, the Mothers day was not celebrated as well, considered to be a Christian festivity - not suitable for the regime,
only the international women day used to be widely celebrated with propaganda making an icon of a woman worker.

After 1989 all three are celebrated here (but it differs in each family which one or ones are chosen). Some very clever man even mmake an excuse not to celebrate any - as the International women day celebration consider to be remains of communists' habit, the Christian mothers' day consider to be something new and most of them are not Christian, and the Valentine is something strange coming newly from the west...

Although I usually not fancy the signs on the walls I just loved this one on the red bricked wall. I t was quite special with the promise of faithfulness.
