Photographer's Note

Taken from the bottom of Cliffs of Moher, western Ireland. The Atlantic Ocean here gives its best. The place is also a sea-birds colony, and it an be visited with boat tours from Doolin, on the mainland.

Hi Stefano,

A great atmospheric photo, sharp and misty at the same time. A very stark landscape - all cliffs and waves. The birds add interest too.

Hi Stefano,
A special, almost black and white seaview. I can imgine how stormcan hit between those cliffs, and your viewpoint would not be safe on worse weather.
Interesting to see such clear sediment layers and how seabirds have found resting place on top of them.

A very unsual view on cliffs of Moher ! I didn't know there were boat tours from Doolin to go there and I imagine it must be very impressive to be bottom of such cliffs ! We can feel a great dramatic atmosphere on your picture. Very well done !

The incredible cliffs and surging water have made a dramatic picture. This is a place that I would love to visit. The flying birds help to understand the scale - I like the one with the white waves behind. This is a very atmospheric image indeed.

Hello Stephano - This is an excellent shot; moody and wild it conveys both the majesty and power of nature. I love the almost monochromatic colour palette with the merest hints of turquoise and brown. Hello Stefano,

At first look in the gallery I was thinking it was a B&W shot. But no, it is a color one. I like what is brouhgt by the very small piece of blue on the moving sea.
A wild place which should not be often photographied from bottom. I would have enjoied to do the same.

I'm surprised to find that this was shot with a 75mm lens. The compression of perspective looks a lot more than that. The gloomy, doomy atmosphere, and your title are a great combination. A good companion piece to your most recent posting.

I have seen this place only from the top, but this is a brilliant picture expressing the enormous size of the cliffs and power of the ocean - it looks almost scary, the boat must have been swinging on waves hard, my admiration to your bravery :-).

A very good shot!I like the composition and atmosphere, with the rocks, the waves and the birds flying. We can almost hear the sea and feel the humidity. Even the colours are great here!
