Photographer's Note

ENGLISH: This the Isle of Capri in the Bay of Naples. Capri is the tourist destination of the rich and famous, aswell as for us plebs. It is a very beautiful island, with attractions such as the Blue Grotto, the Faraglioni, the Marina Piccola, roman ruins and the Natural Arch. A hydrofoil to the island runs regularly from Naples, from Castellammare di Stabia and from Sorrento. Bring your swimming costume and a fair amount of money - the beaches cost money to swim at and even a bottle of water will set you back 10 euro.

ITALIANO: Si tratta al Isola di Capri nella Baia di Napoli. Capri e la destinazione dei ricchi anche noi poverini. In evidenza abbiamo la Grotta Azzurra, l'Arco Naturale, I Faraglioni, i rovini Romani e la Marina Grande. Un eliscafo va tra Capri e Napoli, Castellammare di Stabia e Sorrento. Portati i soldi perche Capri e molto costosa, anche una bottiglia di acqua costa Euro 10.

Hello Lisa,
A well framed composition that perfectly suits the vertical format. The eyes move naturally up the frame from the approaching hydrofoil to the town and then up the mountain side. You obviously had much better weather than when I visited Capri for the only time some 25 years ago and when prices were substantially cheaper. The image benefits from a lovely ambient light and has excellent colours and sharpness. I wish you a pleasant week.

Hello Lisa,

I have not been in Capri, but happen closely together in a recent trip, really napoles I did not like it too much and as you comment in the photo, in this zone of italy the social classes differ very much.

The point of view of such a vertical photo I like, take the sight to you up up to finishing with the sight put in the mountain. Very obtained

Breathtaking image from your serie yet again, another great capture in this format. Lovely mountain and those houses on the slopes as well as those on the beach. Hello dear Lisa,

a beautiful sight of this romantic island, or so what the yellow press and the tourism industry will tell us about.. maybe charming but really not for the "plebs" (lol) of us..
have been several years ago two weeks in late october at Isola d´elba, costs about 500 Euros pro person, in summer you can spent at the same location your time for more than 2500 Euros! not really a pleasure for working people..

Your vertical view of Capri makes for a romantic composition of this classic isle - from the water looking across the marina to the village, then the distant houses huging the cliffs.

Bonjour Lisa,
belle carte postale d'Italie. Des lumières trop contrastée naturellement que pour être faciles. Les zones de sureexposition étaient inévitables.
Il n'empêche que l'expo générale de la photo nous en livre tous les détails.
Un bon choix pour le format verticla.

Great point of view and perfect framing with the vertical composition, just the right amount of water and sky in the frame. You have good light too, creating some nice shadows, good capture of the boat coming through the shot at the right moment.Very sharp also, thanks for sharing.

The famouse tourist location, expensive as noted, Lisa.
I was there on May/1980 and it wasn't as it is nowadays.
The rock is very impressive, overhead the village in harbour, threatening??
Great shot as the sea in Fg well in contrast to green slops.

Ciao golosona! :-) Oggi niente prelibatezze per il palato, ma una stupenda foto di Capri, considerata una perla del Mediterraneo. Immagine catturata in modo stupendo, con la perfetta qualità che contraddistingue ogni tua foto, specialmente nella gestione della luce e della nitidezza. Mi dispiace leggere che a Capri una bottiglia di acqua costa 10 €. perchè è un vero furto. Non esistono isole per ricchi o poveri, ma esisto isole dove i commercianti sono ladri. Questo non fa onore agli italiani.

Adesso ci hai meso alla dieta ? ;)
Ma fortunatamente non alla dieta per le foto. Non trovo facile da prendere questo tipo di foto, ci sono spesso sorprese con la luce e non ci rendemo conto sul momento. Tu sei riuscita ad ottenere una foto di qualità perfetta sin alberi rossi e con una nitidezza perfettà. Non imaginavo Capri cosi, cosi ondeggiante. Al stile delle abitazioni e delle barche, si vede bene che è un luogo turistico.
Buona settimana a te o buona domenica, non so in quale senso è la differenza oraria.

This is a place which I miss! The pearl of Mediterranean!
A friend of mine had to moor there for a night with his boat (a small one) in July and he paid 500 euros! Better go with the Aliscafo!
You captured this glimpse of the island with a splendid light which takes the best out of this lovely harbour with the impressive rocky hill behind. It's an image which makes me feel nostalgic about summer!
