Crumbling Labyrinth IV, a photo from Naples, Campania

Photographer's Note

ENGLISH: I apologise for loading a photo that was similar to my Crumbling Labyrinth II. Although folks this is a slightly wider view. The reason is that for some technical reason, I can neither open nor view the photo that I posted before. For more information on the Isle of Procida in the Bay of Naples, please see my previous postings entitled "Crumbling Labyrinth".

ITALIANO: Mi dispiace perche ho postato una foto prima che e somigliante. Ma a causa un problema technica, non potete aprirla o guardarla. Quindi, adesso posto una un po diversa con la veduta piu elongata. Ancora siamo al'Isola di Procida di Napoli. Per informazione, guarda alle mie foto precedente intitolato "Crumbling Labyrinth".

bella vista dell'Isola di Procida dall'alto nell'ora blu.
Bello il contrasto cromatico tra i toni dorati delle luci ed il blu del cielo e del mare.

Ciao Lisa, It is similar to Crumbling Labyrinth II, not III. But who cares when the photo is so beautiful. Fantastic calm atmosphere, wonderful light and smooth water surface, amazing view in blue hour.

Hi Lisa,

A nice picture with a lot of blue and golden colors in it. The burred motion of the boats looks very nice.
Yeah I am also not being able to open one of my posts for a longer time even after repeated requests to the technical feedback. I guess I will also repost it again.

well, if my memory is correct, this photo is of better and higher quality.
the clarity goes much furter into the background in this one.
the wider view brings in the mountains and just opens it up more overall.
love the blue lighting and of course the curve and yellow contrasts.

This is a great blue hour shot. The blending of natural and artificial lighting is great. The lighted waterfront leads the eye through the shot nicely.

An excelent night scenery, Lisa, the F13 aperture prevent excessive bulb's glare.
The image divided well from dark side on bay, to illuminated part on town promanade and just late afternoon light on sky - Marvelous take.
Why titled Crumbling Labyrinth ??

Hello Lisa,

I don't think the problem is particular to you. Over the last few weeks and months I have noticed that when I upload a picture it is not available to view for a good hour or more. The same thing applies to other pictures that have just been uploaded. You can see the thumbnail but the main image fails to load, making it very difficult to critique some shots.

At least I can see this one in full size and a very good one it is too. The downward point of view works perfectly and takes full advantage of the curving quayside. Perfectly exposed with no hints of over-exposure in the lighted areas and enough detail in the shadow areas. I like the warm/cool colour contrasts and that lovely deep blue sky. Excellent sharpness brings out the detail in the buildings lining the quay to great effect.

During these 38 seconds you had the most spectacular view possible.I like the little fuzz in the boats. The contrast between the lighted parts and the dark parts is superb.

Hi Lisa,
blue hour is definitely my favoourite type of photography yet I have to admit that I did not do anything recently.
This photo demonstrates your master skills in this type of photography. Most of all the timing is perfect. Only few people are able to get the balance so perfectly, Hercules and Craig and JY come to my mind except for you of course.
I like very much the bright reflection of the sky in the water. The mountain on the horizon adds so much interest here. Of course the star shaped lights are a great bonus.
