Just as a short break from my photos from Spain, an archival photo taken long time ago in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican.
I remember that, surprisingly, I was allowed to use flash inside the basilica but not the tripod. This photo I took with the camera immobilized on a hassock. To make it straight I have supported the camera with my wallet, which after taking photo I left there. Luckily 10 minutes later it was still there.
I have printed this picture to the 50x75cm size and it looked OK. Unfortunately most of my negatives suffered quite a damage over time but this was scanned from a negative many years ago.

Swietna prezentacja z Watykanu. Dobry kadr i swietna jakosc.
Ciekawa prezentacja
pozdrawiam

It is wonderful what man has made through faith and its expression in art. This is a special place in Vatican City. The mix adding the natural beauty of the stone. Wonderful lighting and point of view.
Thanks, David

Hello Mariusz,
An excellent photo of one of the most famous sculptures found in Vatican City. The Pietà is lit wonderfully by a nice and warm glow, which also makes it stand out well from the reddish tones of the backdrop.

Czesc Mariusz!
Yes the tripod obstructs pedestrians and there are a phenomenal amount in the Vatican so that's understandable. Most places ban flash and increasingly many museums and art galleries are banning photography altogether :-( Wasn't this the same sculpture that was attacked by a Hungarian / Australian immigrant some decades ago? Glad to see it was repaired. I also use whatever is handy to get the camera straight when no tripods are around. I usually do not bother carrying tripods around. Some coins, a lighter, a pen, whatever do the trick. Tfs!

Hello Mariusz,
The direct light upon the statue and the relative dark walls behind, added good sense e of depth and contrast to the scene.
Brown marble in different tones is yet a magnificent element on this picture.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Mariusz, that photo taken in the Vatican basilica represents Mary holding Jesus just after being crucified. He was dying. The sculpture is a standout artwork of the stone. I like the bg in marble. Fine colors, good image quality, regards.
