Salone di Ercole

Dalla Scala Regia, arrivando al Piano Nobile, ci si trova subito nel grande Salone di Ercole, illuminato da cinque grandi finestroni a volta a tutto sesto che si affacciano su Caprarola e sulla piana che si estende verso la capitale.
Ora le aperture sono chiuse da vetri, ma originariamente erano completamente aperte; la presenza della fontana e del pavimento smaltato testimoniano che in origine questa sala era un luogo semi aperto.
Le vedute sulle pareti raffigurano i principali possedimenti dei Farnese: sui lati corti le cittadine dei ducati di Castro e Ronciglione, sopra le porte le capitali del ducato di Parma e Piacenza.
Nelle arcate opposte ai finestroni dovevano essere dipinte le Quattro Stagioni, ormai non si legge quasi nulla
Sul soffitto, i cui affreschi sono opera di Federico Zuccari, è rappresentata la leggenda della mitica nascita del Lago di Vico, in prossimità di Caprarola.

It's a magnificent room, and although the paintings have faded we can still easily imagine the original beauty found here. Thanks to the large window you had very good light and managed a sharp and clear photo.

I really like the symmetry of the central part of the photo and the details of the art in the middle are fantastic and look so fine in their pastel colours and gentle sunlight, which streamed in from the left hand side.

Les oeuvres d'art sur les murs attirent le regard. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de la fontaine dans la salle d'hercules. La lumière donne un bion rendu aux couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Hello Silvio, the light from the window illuminates the fountain with all its features very nicely.
The ornamentation is astounding, I can’t recall seeing a fountain like this, especially inside a room, it must have taken a lot of hard work to make it, then install it.
Someone with a lot of money and power to be able to afford this.

An esceptional sculpture with excellent view upon its carved elements, Silvio.
maybe a bit zoom would be better, in order to avoid the window glaer on lefty. Nonetheless, an intriguing art work.
