Snow blower, a photo from Trento, Trentino Alto Adige

Photographer's Note

We were staying beside Lake Garda, and were promised a trip into the Dolomites. The original day that the trip was planned was a poor weather day, so it was postponed until later in the week.

The day arrived, we travelled north up from the valley. As we gained height it got cooler and wetter, until eventually the rain turned to snow, with quite a substantial snowfall for October.
Some of the party were unprepared for the change in the weather.
We stopped at Madonna di Campiglio for a break, and this is where I saw this man clearing the footpath.

"Madonna di Campiglio is a ski resort in Northern Italy. Surrounded by the Adamello Brenta Nature Park, which includes the Brenta Dolomites mountain range.
The elevation is 1.552m above sea level."

Hello Jean,
Just the kind of photo we need now when winter is finally behind us. ;-) This is quite a lot of snow, which is proven even more clearly in the funny WS, and maybe a surprise even to the locals at that time of the year. If you were dressed for summer it would have been an unwanted surprise, but you could take nice photos as long as you weren't shivering too much.

Super capture of this machine in action that we never have here in the tropics. It sure sounds cold and a lot of snow. Interesting that this machine looks as if it's about to devour its surroundings - remarkable! I suppose with snow at that level you need something bigger. What an experience and capture.

There they use a machine to blow the snow away, here they sometimes use snow making machines to make snow for the ski slopes. A good snow bound photo.

Hello Jean,

Brrr! That looks to be about 30-40 cm of snow, which is certainly more than most people, bar skiers, like to see. Good sharpness and graphism with a soft diffused light. Tfs!

it would have been so funny to have a photo of you sitting on the bench hahaha...so I guess you didn't get to see the mighty Dolomites with the grey skies? That's too bad. as for the main photo, it brings back memories of living in Eastern Canada.
Here in Vancouver, on the West coast, the climate is very different, we don't get snow, but lots of rain. cheers

Better to be surprised by the cold weather than fall down in a cable car :(
Very photogenic abundant snow.
We are all reaching to archives now I suppose.
Let's hope the green list fills up quickly and we will be able to create new memories :)

a nice view of the worker using a machine to clean the stairs. here we are facing the third cold wave of this winter, it is told it will be the worst of the century bringing many damages and snow to the highlands,
