Photographer's Note
Third arcade in the cathedral's cloister at Brixen / Bressanone, South Tyrol.
The cloister counts among the most important monuments of art in Tyrol. It originated in pre-romanesque times and received romanesque and gothic changes. The frescoes were begun around 1390, but mostly are from the 15th century.
It is certain that the artist had only heard of elephants, that they were huge, had big hanging ears and a long trunk and were capable to bear several warriors, making them early types of tank. But he never had seen one!
Taken on slide film with Canon A1, professionally digitalized.
