'From Riva del Garda' looking south down the length of Lake Garda.

"Located on the north-western corner of the lake.
The town is situated at the southern edge of the Italian Alps.

Bordered by Monte Rocchetta to the west and Monte Brione to the east."

The road is on the very edge of the lake, we were on our way along that road towards Limone sul Garda.

A lovely picture, a pity of the part overexpose through it light of sky.
The rock and green vegetation make a nice contrast and lovely picture.

Hello Jean,
You had at least partly dark skies, but in the nearest area the light was good and produced very attractive reflections in the lake. It's a dramatic view of the steep mountainside and the red building is a strong eye-catcher, very different from the red cottages in my neighbourhood.

I might have cropped the botton of the photo to emphasize the buildings and mountain.

Hello Jean,

Italy has some beautiful scenic places and this is one of them.
Your photograph seems to have different lighting conditions between the left and right hand sides. I absolutely love the right side, where the photograph seems slightly underexposed, to give a wonderful richness to the colours.
The buildings are deeply reflected and stretched across the lake’s surface.

I would have been sorely tempted to crop the photograph, concentrating on the r/h side which really does look superb.

Very good quality for a shot taken from a moving bus. Lovely reflections at right with reasonable sharpness and no colour tints from the bus window. Tfs!

Hello Jean,
The photo reminds me of a boat trip on the Norwegian fjords. The buildings do of course look Italian. The cypress trees too make it clear that we are in southern Europe.
Fantastic how on these steep banks has been built.
The residents are almost wedged between the lake and the mountainside.

Lovely view across the water towards the houses near the lake and the steep cliffs right above them, nicely mix with some dense forests. The light was perfect and also added a nice contrast with the darker and hazier background at right.

Good evening Jean,
Been to Italia 6 different visits, but never got to this place on Lago di Garda, only as far as Sirmione.
A magnificent sheer cliff which hang above the town built on the water edge's. Very imposing sight.

*** Nowadays, every desert monastery is connected to water supply like any other town or remote village. In older days, they took water from the Kidron creek bellow which showed on other picture and will show more. Thanks.

A wonderful postcard of the lake and this villa located next to it and at the foot of that steep and wooded cliff, which increases the beauty of the place, the truth is that this lake is full of charming little towns.

The water sheen and its shiny reflections make all the diff to this lakescape with the rocky backdrop provides a sensible framing. Speck of vivid red is an added value. Excellent shot
