Photographer's Note
The 17 contradas of Siena have fountains where new contrada members are baptized. Most of the fountains were built in the XX century.
This is the fountain of the contrada of Tartuca (Tortoise). It was made by sculptor Bruno Buracchini in 1951 and is located in Via Tommaso Pendola.
