Photographer's Note

La Villa (Villagrande) est le chef-lieu de la commune de Col (Colle Santa Lucia) , superbement situé sur un promontoire qui domine le Val Fiorentina .
Quand on arrive depuis le nord , on découvre au détour de la route cette merveilleuse vue avec la petite église paroissiale et les vieilles bâtisses rustiques , et le Pelmo en fond de décor .
Alors , on se gare sur la place du village pour faire quelques pas en arrière et photographier cette image iconique des Dolomites.

A beautiful landscape with the green slopes, the forests, the rocky peaks and the town with its church tower in the middle, lit so well by the bright and clear sunlight. Very well captured and carefully composed.

wow, i really need to travel to this area of Italy some day.
Its almost like a painting! Its hard to believe these views are real. so picturesque. too bad the clouds are covering the peak on the right, it would be nice to have that one tiny section clear to see the sharp peak...but the clouds add fine atmosphere too. another excellent shot in the best light

A wonderful scene, superbly captured, Denis. I like how your shots are instantly recognizable. A real style...I'm a bit jealous of that, since I always go from one style to another, never really sticking to it for too long.
