Venice Sunrise, a photo from Venice, Veneto

Photographer's Note

It was my first time to see sunrise in a foreign country. It is always hard to wake up this early in the morning. I was lucky this time because I took an overnight train from Rome to Venice. By the time I reached Venice, before I dissembarked from the train, I already saw the Sunrise from the sea, but it wasn't as bright as this one.

When I finally arrived, I left my lugguage with my girlfriend, quickly ran outside the train station, and took this shot on top of the Bridge.

No editing, this is a natural colour. Picture cropped only.

It's interesting to see a sunrise instead of sunsets for a change. And I think that in such touristic destinations it's the only chance to have the place "for yourself", without the crowds. Lovely colours and atmosphere. Another interesting thing is that the sun took the shape of a perfect six-angled star. Never saw something like this.

Well, you certainly picked the spot for a first time foreign sunrise :o) I could not agree more about how hard it is to wake up that early, but as was the case here, it certainly is worthwile sometimes. Great city, well represented here. TFS.

Hi kenneth,
very nice POV and of course a great photo. Beautiful matt colours during the sunrise. Maybe it would have been better to wait until the varporetto passed. But it´s only my opinion ;-)
