Hello Dear Friends!
I spent last few days sightseeing the amazing city of Rome and testing my new camera Olympus OM-D EM-5 which I'm really happy to have.

This colorful neon has been seen and captured at Via di Ripetta, one of the historical streets in the center of Rome (Campo Marzio) which starts from Piazza del Popolo. No tripod used. Hope you like it!

ci sarò passato mille volte sotto questa insegna e mai ho pensato a fotografarla attratto da ben altri soggetti.
Eppure tu hai dimostrato con questa foto che anche il più banale dei soggetti può diventare interessante se ben fotografato, come tu hai saputo fare in maniera eccellente in questo scatto. Bravissima.
Taglio e inquadratura perfetti e così si può dire anche dei colori. Una foto di grande effetto, ottimamente realizzata.

Hello Gosia,

This is not the sort of shot we have come to expect from Rome but it is a completely refreshing change.
Your new camera has given excellent colours and sharpness to this fine, upward shot. I like how the bright, neon letters stand out so well against the deep blue sky.

Czesc Gosia,
super pomysl na zdjecie i rewelacyjne wykonanie!Naprawde ciekawy temat na cos oryginalnego z Wiecznego Miasta.zdjecie bylo robione chyba bez statywu,tym bardziej super jakosc(nawet pomimo uzycia jasnego obiektywu).
Jak widze nowy Olympus spisuje sie znakomicie.Czytalem sporo pozytywnych opinii na jego temat.Tutaj w nocy spisal sie bardzo dobrze(w moim starszym Olympusie e-420 to mi przeszkadzalo-kiepsko sobie radzil z ISO wiekszymi niz 400,no i obiektywy do systemu 4/3 byly bardzo drogie).
Piekna kompozycja!

like this shot, it is such a rich combination of colours and has a retro feel about it. Almost pop-arty in atmosphere with strong lines and immaculate detail it would look superb framed and hanging on an Italian Deli wall in New York. Powerful imagery!

Hello Gosia,

A good upward pov with perfect sharpness. Not easy to do in nocturnal shots. I like the vivid colours and their saturation and warm cold color contrasts. The green is especially eye-catching and unusual. Have a great Sunday!

molto spesso le cose più banali neanche le vediamo, ce ne accorgiamo quando siamo in terra straniera, perchè tutto è novità, curiosità.
Il risultato che hao ottenuto è molto bello, i neon creano tante sfumature di colore.
Direi che la prova della nuova fotocamera è decisamente positiva.

Hi Gosia - this is a really outstanding shot! The perspective works beautifully, and you've lined up the sign vertically to create a nice sense of height... the light is gorgeous! Overexposed in exactly the right way for this, with the glow from the neon casting about in every direction. The shot looks really electric. I love the green/yellow glow on the building facade. Really great work and a nice workout for the new camera! Hope you enjoyed Rome - looking forward to more.

The luminosity off the neon is amazing, I would image you an see this sign from space! Even the walls that it is attached to are glowing like radiation. Beautiful shot. I wonder how many people pass under this image every day and never see it like this :)

Congratulations with your new camera. A lots of
people don't know how nice the system-camera's
are: they are fast and very good and easy to
handle (what you see, is what you get). One
point: you must buy a second battery.
Picture is nice colorful, no noice, the lower
point of view makes the picture exciting, great
composition and light management.

Nice capture of the neon sign of the Pizzaria. This place have a nice pizza?
In NY I ate many delicious pizzas.
Lovely colors and it is very sharp and have no noise! I think the new camera works very well.

Hi Gosia,
Not so easy to manage artificial light of neons buy here, it's successful. I like how the yellow-green tones of the neon enlightents the house. The pipe in the foreground is a little bit disturbing but seems difficult to avoid without losing quality in framing.

Hi Gosia,

Perfect example of taking the "every day" scenery and turning into a brilliant image! I absolutely love the exposure on this one which creates a slight glow around each of the neon letters, adding another special effect to the already vibrant signage. The perspective and composition are also fantastic, you've done a excellent job in putting together a real treat for the eyes! Neon lights beautifully collected, Gosia.

Lovely special ambience and the 'coolness' of colour that you have found here and your new cam did a splendid job with flying colours! This really does look cozy, so homey, very intriguing set up, the pov and It makes me want to look at every detail. The neon light draws the eyes in as you turn an everyday street scene into something really special of the essence of the street culture. Excellent clarity and the effect you have captured here with so many varying tones in a well controlled exposure. This picture definately adds lot of interest. Simply delicious to view, Well done,
