Two in one, a photo from La Spezia, Liguria

Photographer's Note

When you make an effort to climb the mountain, you are rewarded with wonderful sights. I was delighteD even in cloudy and foggy weather. I have shown already Riomaggiore, Monterosso and Vernazza, here the remaining two: close is Corniglia, the only one village that is high above the see (500 or 600 steps) and farther Manarola.
I Workshop I will upload the views of the trail. It is really a joy to go there.

Hello Malgo,
The title fits perfectly. A splendid expansive view over this area of the coastline with the two villages making a fine pair of focal points. Excellent light management with superb colours and clarity despite the adverse weather conditions. An image with immense depth, allowing us to catch a glimpse of the distant coastline way over on the horizon.

Hello Malgo ,
I've taken last year the path between Levanto and Monterosso , Monterosso and Vernazza (the only one with a fee!), Corniglia and Manarola , and Manarola and Riomaggiore . The only part I've missed is between Corniglia and Vernazza . So I've missed this amazing point of view on the two villages , in a splendid perspective .

Je me suis tapé ces marches par une chaude journée de septembre et j'étais bien content d'arriver en haut. La crème glacée fut apprécié, mais quel beau point de vue sur les deux villages.

PS. Jak Ci pisałem, ambicji nie mam, lubię robić pocztówki. Na Zatybrzu byłem kilka razy, coś nawet pstrykałem, ale albo miałem pod światło, albo szaro akurat było. Inna sprawa, że coś mnie znudzilo zawieszanie tu zdjec, wiec chyba sobie przerwe zrobie.

Let me flatter you this time, Malgo - seeing these three photos, you were alone on the trail, and yet probably worried about rain, than found a best POV to include two of the five villages. The colored houses stand out great in the green surrounding hills, though the sea was not so blue, but this culminate to a wonderful composition. Well rewarded for the effort.

Very interesting. Here I can really see how close or far these villages are located from each other.
Despite the bad weather, the view is awesome and we can enjoy well the colours of the nearest village.
I surely understand it must be a pleasure to hike there.

Hi Malgo,

Itchyfeet, meet lazyfeet 2! This looks similar to Ravello on the Amalfi coast south of Naples only I caught a bus up the mountain! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b1/Ravello-coastline.jpg

I like the diffused light and soft, pastel colors. A magnificent high pov offering an expansive view of the coastline. The vineyards add a splash of greenery. Tfs.

Czesc Malgorzata,
a wiec udalo Ci sie zalatwic "two birds with one stone".
Ja pamietam kiedy probowalem znalezc POV zeby pokazac te trzy wioseczki z bialymi domkami w Granadzie a dokladniej Alpujarras czy jakos tak. Ty tez tam bylas wiec moze i tamte wioseczki masz w galerii -juz nie pamietam.
No oczywiscie jak na mnie przystalo musze powiedziec tutaj: szkoda ze pogoda nie dopisala. To byloby o wiele mocniejsze zdjecie i robiace nieziemskie wrazenie w swietle slonca. Teraz oczywiscie jest sliczne i nawet ta mgielka dodaje swego rodzaju atmosfery ale w takich warunkach nie da sie uniknac wyblakniecia kolorow i ciemnych obszarow na zdjeciu.
Tego widoku na pewno jeszcze nie widzialem ale coraz bardziej tez przekonuje sie ze to jeszcze nie jest miejsce dla mojej corki -w Cyprze na wszystkich wycieczkach musialem ja nosic na barana, jeszcze to czuje w plecach... Wiec takie miejsce jak to raczej odpada na najblizsze pare lat.
No ale i tak nie wiadomo czy w ogole bedziemy gdzies jezdzic :)

I am constantly amazed by how these villages came to be built, as the terrain is so steep and difficult to get around.
