Caso

Il castello di Caso risulta ancora cinto da mura ed il tessuto urbano, in gran parte restaurato, presenta notevoli elementi architettonici di elevato pregio. Interessante è la doppia porta d'accesso con spazio coperto restaurata di recente, cerniera tra il vecchio abitato medioevale e le costruzioni più moderne sorte intorno alla parrocchiale di Santa Maria Assunta. Questa chiesa di origini romaniche conserva un ciclo di affreschi con storie della Vergine dipinto nel 1595 dal pittore Pierino Cesarei, oltre a quattro tele seicentesche degli altari laterali. All'interno del castello c'è l'antico Oratorio di San Giovanni Battista, trasformato in cantina della casa parrocchiale, che conserva notevoli affreschi del XV secolo. In fondo al paese, presso l'attuale cimitero, si trova il Santuario della Madonna delle Grazie sorto come ampliamento di un'edicola campestre del XV secolo in seguito all'apparizione miracolosa, ad un fanciullo del luogo, della Madonna a cavallo. L'interno della chiesa è affrescata con ex-voto risalenti per la maggior parte al secolo XVI ad opera di Giovanni Spagna e della sua scuola. Poco lontano dal paese, sulla strada di Gavelli, sorge la chiesa romanica campestre di Santa Cristina. Anche l'interno di questa chiesa è completamente affrescata da ex-voti risalenti ai secoli XIV°-XVI° e raffiguranti i Santi protettori e scene bibliche, secondo il semplice linguaggio popolare.

This mist hanging over the town makes it look like we are looking back through the mists if time to a place hundreds of years ago, a real journey through the ages. This really is a phenomenal effect, really nicely done

Il y a quelque chose d'un rêve dans cette composition très éthérée où on voit à peine à travers les nuages et le brouillard qui recouvrent la ville. Magnifique point de vue.

una rappresentazione straordinaria, assai chiara per farci conoscere il bel borgo ma anche molto misteriosa e dinamica, grazie alla nebbia appena dissolta dalla luce. La nebbia fa' una cornice magnifica, i colori ed i dettagli che spiccano in mezzo ad essa sono deliziosi. Complimenti e grazie!

It's a beautiful view to see how the town is wrapped in a thick layer of fog, which slowly seems to lift. The warmer colours make a great contrast to the white surroundings.

A glorious scene when low warm light picking out detail of the landscape with a lovely contrast of warmth and cold conditions. The evaporating mist seems to unify whole the picture adding the sense of peace and tranquility with excellent break in colours. I love an atmospheric quality about it, exquisitely taken, TFS

Hello Silvio,
Through the dense fog layer we still get a nice, somewhat mysterious, view of the village on the mountain slope.
The soft tones of the walls and the roofs of the houses are still visible.
The fog is some kind of frame that surrounds the village.
Excellent capture.
