Photographer's Note

I have already shown the less known side of this square (, but I would like to include the landmark found in this square as well. It is the Pantheon (from Greek: of all the gods), a former Roman temple and now a catholic church. It is one of the best preserved ancient Roman buildings in Rome, mostly thanks to the fact that it has been used continuously and has been a church, dedicated to St Mary and the Martyrs” since the 7th century. It was probably built in the first half of the second century by emperor Hadrian at the site of an earlier temple (built by Marcus Agrippa in 27 BC, as written on the façade), which had burnt down in 80 AD.
