Chiesa di San Fortunato – Poggioprimocaso

La vecchia Chiesa di San Fortunato si trova fuori dal paese di Poggioprimocaso, nel Comune di Cascia, lungo la strada per Ponte, alle pendici del Monte Maggio.
Ex-parrocchiale e già priorale, fu edificata su una cella monastica benedettina del secolo XII, insieme al convento di cui oggi rimangono vari elementi. Pietro IV, abate di Sassovivo di Foligno la annesse all’Abbazia nel 1121.
Del carattere romanico originario conserva all’esterno l’abside, la monofora e le semicolonne. VEDI L'INTERNO NEI WS

Ciao Silvio,
that feels so remote, so isolated as if monks built it who wanted to stay away from the world.
Brownish vegetation indicates the cold season. The warm light has enhanced the effect making it feels very dreamy.
There are some white spots there, it is a snow? It could be since it was taken in February.

Hello Silvio,
We see a fine church, but it's the warm light and the warm brown tones of the vegetation that characterize the photo. The WS show the fine interior in well exposed photos but this is the most stunning composition.

The vegetation and the trees are helping to frame the church. The point of view is showing the details of the church of San Fortunato. The light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

It is the fine composition and the lovely, warm light which stand out in your photograph. We don't really see many details of the church, though your w/s show us some absolutely beautiful, interior details. For me, one of these would have been better as the main post.
