Drops and nymphs, a photo from Milan, Lombardia

Photographer's Note

Waiting for sunny days, today I show you a photo of the last flowers before winter. It is a common Silene and its name refers to the balloon shape of the flower that I think everyone knows. But the surprise was when I reviewed the photo at home and realized that in the heart of the flower there were two green grasshopper nymphs, which I think you can see too. Last signs of life before the great cold. This is also meant to be a reminder of Treknature, a site that unfortunately stopped working for too long.

In attesa di giornate di sole, oggi vi mostro una foto degli ultimi fiori prima dell'inverno. Si tratta di una comune Silene ed il suo nome si riferisce alla forma del palloncino del fiore che penso tutti conoscano. Ma la sopresa è stata quando ho rivisto la foto a casa e mi sono accorto che nel cuore del fiore c'erano due ninfe di cavallette verdi, che penso anche voi riusciate a vedere. Ultimi segnali di vita prima del grande freddo. Questo vuole essere un ricordo anche di Treknature, un sito che purtroppo ha smesso di funzionare da troppo tempo.

Bonsoir Luciano,

La fleur est bien placée dans le cadrage. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de la fleur et de la goutte d'eau. La lumière met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

La foto è gia uno spettacolo, con bel fiore decorato dalle goccioline, la presenza delle ninfe al centro è un gran bel bonus. Interesantan pogled i trenutak, lep cvet sa kapima rose, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom i dobrim tekstom.
Lep cvet pre zime i uhvacen trenutak, lepa fotografija.

hello Luciano, Beautiful picture, I hope it survives on the page of TE. These droplets look wonderful. Indeed, these are two green nymphs inside. I do not know this flower. Pity that Treknature doesn't work any more. You were an active member. And what about Treklens?

Hello Luciano,
There are not so many butterflies these days, so we get a fine flower instead, and two tiny insects as a bonus. I thought of Treknature immediately, but with that site closed I guess photos like this will be just as acceptable on Trekearth. I love the fine sharpness and the tiny drops of water hanging from the petals like on pieces of spiderwebs.

This is beautiful!
The details of the flower and its water droplets are so sharply captured, they appear almost like fine jewellery!
They are strongly positioned and look stunning against the oof b/g.

I wouldn't know what the green dots are, you know so much about the nature!
Great close up photography pf this lovely fragile flower. The background is very pleasantly blurred. Just worried that TrekEarth will soon follow TrekNature...

The frozen droplets made this so unique picture, the white flower "opened" petals in full, beautifully shaped - but frozen.
Superb photjon, well spotted phenomenon.

A really superb close-up photo of this lovely little white flowers. The sharpness is excellent and reveals those many tiny drops of water very well. Great depth of field, too.

I think we don't have flowers any more, they don't stand freezing. This white flower looks very cool, with some water drop, a bit of spider web, and those nymphs. Good framing and precise exposure.

Hello Luciano,
The best way to show 'mother nature' in simplicity and purity, has to be this one.
Small little flower with small little droplets and the invasion of little green nymphs on a dewy autumnal day - simply spectacular.
Its happened to me before, I only realized when I reviewed the photo, I saw a small spider sitting on the flower stem. So, you're not alone in this case :-)
Luciano, I looked at your photo gallery of Sri Lanka. You have only one photo of Kandy and it was not what I expected from you :-)

Beautiful composition with this white wild flower, to which the night dew has left tiny drops of water, like translucent pearls, the bugs are seen in the most sheltered part of the flower.
Wonderful colors, soft tones, excellent sharpness and splendid light.
