Fontana di palazzo Mongalli
Palazzo Mongalli, già Fraticelli, risale al XVI secolo. La notevole costruzione è caratterizzata da finestre e marcapiani in pietra e da una pianta molto articolata. Ai lati del portale, spartito da due mezze colonne in cotto, ci sono due sedili in pietra previsti "per il popolo”, esempio unico di tale tipologia a Spoleto; altri sedili, di differente fattura, si trovano ai lati del portale della ex Chiesa di San Nicolò.
Sul muro della corte interna, ignorata dagli stessi spoletini, si può ammirare un’imponente fonte seicentesca a tre vasche, con sopra lo stemma della famiglia Sansi. L’acqua fuoriusciva da due cannule mimetizzate all’interno della finta roccia spugnosa.

Ciao Silvio,la foto principale è parecchio sgangherata,non si capisce se il pavimento è in discesa verso sinistra o è stato un maldestro tentativo di correzione prospettica,sicuramente meglio i due WS, specialmente la vista larga con la fontana incorniciata tra le arcate. Buon weekend,Luciano

I am glad that you have included the workshop photos, they allow us to better imaging the location of the fountain in the courtyard and some details as well.
The light was challenging here but you managed it well.
Nice addition to your series of fountains, what a great collection!

My opinion, the must are completely and nice marble construction, Rose Ourure marble!
A nice soft contrast image

that part sculpted above the cup isn't so clear to see, maybe flowers... nice the classic and simple design of the fountain protected by the rain and sun.

Ciao caro Silvio, So many fountains in Spoleto! I looked in Google and Spoleto is such a small town. How it is possible that there are so many churches, fountains, palaces? I must do a virtual walk and check all this. This composition is not as successful as the other ones. It hangs to the left a bit and the lack of symmetry is disturbing. I find the Workshop picture with a broader view better.

I think this is probably the only fountain you have shown, with seats either side, for the use of visitors. It is a thoughtful addition and makes this look a much bigger, grander fountain.
With the w/s, we get a good impression of the fountain and its setting.

Missed this one. Good lighting and brightness with soft natural pastel colours and superb sharpness. Well framed and composed too. I like the upper arch framing the smaller one below. Tfs!

An indoor old fountain sensibly taken with excellent detail throughout obviously the eye is pulled into its vicinity with so much heritage and culture in a place. The image is pleasantly composed and exposed with cool soft colour. Excellent shot
