Fontana di Palazzo Rosari Spada - Spoleto
Altra fontana spoletina poco conosciuta. Si trova nel cortile dell’incompiuto Palazzo Rosari Spada, con accesso sia da Via delle Terme, sia da Corso Mazzini. È racchiusa entro un’alta nicchia. La vasca di contenimento, di forma ellittica, raccoglie l’acqua che esce da una cannella posta nella bocca di un volto scolpito, raffigurante un satiro. È affiancata da interessanti resti di un muro di contenimento di epoca romana. In documenti del 1839, quando il palazzo era già di proprietà della famiglia Marignoli, la fontana è descritta “…con una vasca abbeveratoio per il bestiame e con una cannella per l’acqua potabile, posta vicino alla scuderia” .

Hello Silvio,
You captured this fascinating small fountain with superb sharpness and light. I like the funny face of the fountain, but I also like the elegant shape of the shady part of the niche. Both WS are good complements.

this is a lovely addition to your collection. I like the presence of the direct sunlight here. That makes a huge difference. The light emphasizes inequalities of the surface. Great final effect.

A sad looking guy having ciggy break! This is lovely, a charming quintessential Italian ye olde water fountain which carries the sense of great age. The walls seem to have so many hidden memories to tell for sure. Clarity and exposure handled seamlessly, great light and shadow giving that extra depth. It's beautiful take and tfs
