Fontana di Piazza Collicola
Davanti al settecentesco palazzo Collicola, sulla prospiciente dependance un tempo occupata dalle scuderie, si trova una fastosa fontana, detta anche Fonte Cupa, dal nome della modesta antica sorgente che la alimentava. Come il palazzo, anche la fontana fu realizzata tra il 1717 e il 1730 su disegno dell’architetto senese Sebastiano Cipriani. È posizionata all'interno di un'ampia edicola a tre rincassi, incorniciata da paraste e decorata nella parte alta da due stelle disposte simmetricamente; sopra ancora una mensola sostiene un frontone con ovale centrale e ai lati due basamenti con tre colli ciascuno (colli e stelle facevano parte dello stemma dei Collicola). Subito sotto la mensola, al centro, è scolpito un volto grottesco. L’acqua sgorga a getto continuo dal volto di un satiro in pietra al centro dell'edicola, sotto la mensola, a sinistra, forse aggiunta successivamente, una testa di leone in metallo consente ai passanti di dissetarsi. La sontuosa vasca in pietra è composta da sette blocchi modanati.

Ciao Silvio

Good to include a section of blue sky at the top to contrast with the slightly pink warm tones of the buildings' façade. Reasonable sharpness and just a little noise but it doesn't disturb the image at all. The woman at left animates the scene. Tfs!

Found the fontana on Google-Map at 42.7348, 12.7344 and taken a short virtual tour around the place. Wonderful sight, just as it appears on your photo.

Perhaps not your technically best photo, but it's a very nice composition. The two fountains are charming and they are placed on a very attractive building. I like the inclusion of the woman at the small drinking fountain.

lovely fountain and nice presentation. The quality is not optimal, there is some noise here, which is a pity. But I like the central symmetry enhanced with the pots with plants on both sides.

This is a very well thought out composition.
By including the glimpse of sky, you show us that the fountain's external decorations almost reach the roof, and by including a figure, you have helped us to determine the overall scale of the fountain.

It's a well presented, symmetrical photograph.

Ciao Silvio, Another fountain in Spoleto! The mask with the water is small but in the whole it is impressive. Excellent presentation. HAha, there is another small one on the left side and it seems the woman wants to drink water from it

She's thirty alright but a vital component of this shot - showing a size comparison to the arty water fountain. Love the crop, one can feel the rich details of the architecture along with lovely natural colours. Excellent shot
