Cappella di Palazzo Trinci - Foligno

La cappella di Palazzo Trinci è affrescata da Ottaviano Nelli con un ciclo di Storie della vita della Vergine, datato 1424. Sulla volta si trovano lo Sposalizio di Gioacchino e Anna, l’Annuncio dell’angelo, l’Incontro alla Porta Aurea e la Nascita di Maria; nelle lunette Presentazione di Maria al Tempio e Annunciazione; alle pareti, dalla sinistra dell'altare, Natività di Gesù (nella foto), Adorazione dei Magi, Presentazione di Gesù al Tempio, Annuncio a Maria della prossima morte da parte dell’angelo, Congedo degli Apostoli da Maria, Dormitio Virginis, Funerali della Vergine, Assunzione di Maria. Al di fuori del ciclo mariano sono raffigurati inoltre la Crocifissione e i santi Antonio Abate, Domenico, Giovanni Battista e Francesco che riceve le stimmate.

A fantastic ceiling and side walls decorated with beautiful paintings. I am happy to discover that I see no damages at all. They all seem to be in perfect condition, and you captured them with a very good an even light.

A fantastic upward pov on these impressive frescoes. Good sharpness, colour and framing. I like the x shape formed by the converging lines on the ceiling. Tfs!

Le plafond est impressionnant. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du plafond de la chapelle du Palis Trinci. La lumière donne un bon rendu aux couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello Silvio, a very beautiful ceiling, captured in sharp focus.
When I see ceilings like this I am in awe of the artists who painted them; how difficult it must be to paint in such awkward places.

What a wonderful chapel!
The ceiling and the walls as far as we can see, are one great work of art.
These frescoes date from 1424. They are very well preserved.
Marvelous picture of this artistic masterpiece with its many warm colours.
Great capture with excellent sharpness and clarity.

I suppose in the past they didn't do movies about a life of a famous person but instead they were painting the walls with scenes from their life.
Beautiful ceiling here, so very rich in paintings, there is so much going on. Some of the scenes are easier to get than others.

I stayed by chance in this city and used it as a base to visit your town and assisi. a pity I didn't visit this palace. the ceiling is magnificent.
