I hope not to tire you with this series of butterflies but I don't have time to photograph anything else in this very busy and travelless period. Today I show you one of the most beautiful living in our continent, quite common but very hysterical and not easy to photograph, but it also has the advantage of being one of the largest. This is the Papilio machaon. Linnaeus attributed to this butterfly the name of Macaone (in ancient Greek: Μαχάων, Macháōn) character of Greek mythology, son of Asclepius and Epione, brother of Podalirio; he was one of Elena's suitors and died in the Trojan War.

Spero di non stancarvi con questa serie di farfalle ma non ho tempo di fotografare altro in questo periodo molto impegnativo e senza viaggi. Oggi vi mostro una delle più belle che vive nel nostro continente, abbastanza comune ma molto isterica e non facile da fotografare, ma ha anche il vantaggio di essere una tra le più grandi. Si tratta del Papilio machaon. Ciao Luciano, il Macaone è sempre uno spettacolo, quest'anno ancora non l'ho fotografato, al solito uno splendore di macro con nitidezza, colori e dettagli a top, bravissimo, ciao Silvio

Ciao Caro Luciano,

This is a beautiful, big butterfly, which I have seen in warmer countries of Europe. We call it a swallowtail for obvious reasons.
You have captured the butterfly with your usual clarity and colour correctness. It makes an eye-catching feature in the f/g.

Lep leptir i cvet, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom i uhvacenim trenutkom.
Lepi detalji na krilima leptira.

Wow this is so beautiful!
I remember seeing this butterfly but more often in photos than in real life. The design of its winds is amazing! You have captured it so close to make the effect even stronger. Perfectly sharp with the purple flower, which as you told us is the favourite color of flowers for butterflies.

Ciao Luciano. How we could be tired with your fantastic butterflies photos. For me, no butterfly is easy to photograph, not only this beautiful living. Awesome composition and sharpness. I see that the butterflies like clover flowers. Maybe I should have it in my garden?
