Monastero di S.Anna- Foligno (PG)
Il Monastero di Sant’Anna, o delle Contesse, fu fondato da Angelina dei Conti di Montegiove e di Marsciano, nata verso il 1383.
Dopo soli due anni di matrimonio, Angelina si fece terziaria francescana e nel 1385 si stabilì a Foligno, città dei Trinci suoi parenti.
Subito trasformò alcune case della Società della Croce in monastero, il quale nel 1388 era già funzionante e che successivamente fu più volte ingrandito.
È l’unico tuttora esistente dei cinque monasteri che hanno dato il nome alla via.
Da una porta si accede al secondo chiostro, più antico; in un vano aperto, con al centro un pozzo in muratura quattrocentesco, conserva una serie di affreschi databili tra la fine del XV secolo e gli inizi del XVI: da sinistra Sant’Agnese, Santa Caterina d’Alessandria, San Michele arcangelo, Sant’Elisabetta d’Ungheria, Sant’Apollonia d’Alessandria, questi ultimi tre privi della parte inferiore per l’apertura di una porta, San Diego, Sant’Antonio abate, San Francesco da Paola, Sant’Anna, San Bernardino da Siena, San Francesco che riceve le stigmate, di Pierantonio Mezzastris (1487), Pietà e angeli, attribuita da alcuni a Lattanzio di Nicolò, figlio dell’Alunno, San Sebastiano, Santa Cecilia, Santa Dorotea, San Feliciano con ai piedi due oranti in saio bianco, il beato Pietro Crisci e il beato Tomasuccio e Le Nozze di Giuseppe e Maria.

Hello Silvio,
It's a beautiful room with a very elegantly built ceiling. It looks now more like an art gallery than a part of a monastery. The plants in the pots create a nice atmosphere. There was a good light that you handled well.

I like your slightly angled point of view here which resulted in a pleasant perspective especially with the arches being there.
Lovely place with attractive paintings along the same height.
Every detail of the decoration well thought through with the charming flowers and plants to decorate the place.
