Photographer's Note

We’re still on our walk over the coastal mountains from Cala Gonone to Cala Luna. (on my next post we will arrive) I couldn’t resist this one as we get just a peek of the sea through the trees. It was a very hot walk with a lot of climbing up and down hills and the shaded woodland was welcome.

I took two shots as I had inadvertently left the aperture at f11 and as you see in the details the speed was slow to hand-hold. I took another at f6.3 and 1/60th second. After perusing both images at 100% I can’t see any camera shake on this, and the wider DOF is of course better.

When converting from RAW I set the WB at shade as I like the warm effect of the sun on the trees. However the sea looked a bit yellow so I increased the blue on a selection in PS. I did try lightening the shadows, but decided it looked better this way.

If you want to see who we met in the woods take a look at the WS.
