Photographer's Note
A few such medieval passages connect Via dei Portici (Laubengasse) with the Via Dottor Streiter (Doktor-Streiter Gasse) in the picturesque city of Bolzano. Most if not all of them were built in the 17th century and the time has left its mark on their walls. This includes, of course, the occasional, more recent display of graffiti, which I tried to avoid capturing. I will not give you here a Wikipedia note on the city, but will mention that the area is characterized by a charming mix of Italian and German culture, and it is a pleasure to visit. In August I found it much more welcoming than the more popular, hot, overcrowded and overpriced tourist centers such as Florence and Venice. And one more piece of advice: avoid at all cost vacationing in August in the Northern hemisphere.

I wonder what was the colour of these walls whewn they were built. The passage seem long and the light at the end of the tunnel give the image something to focus on. Simple and nice picture. I wish I could see these places. Thanks Roland :-)
