View of the south-west coast of the Island of Lipari, Aeolian Islands at sunset.
The cliffs in the foreground are the walls of the endogenous volcanic dome of Monte Guardia and Monte San Lazzaro. The island of Vulcano with the smoke rising from the Gran Cratere can be seen top left and in the far distance the snow-covered slopes of Mount Etna.

I like the pastel colors of the sky, which gradually turn into the deep blue of the sea in foreground. The view is fantastic.

we seem to be visiting some of the same places, volcanic islands...:-) I don't have any pics of these though, my visit was about 15 years ago,lovely place and lovely rendering here, great view and such a beautiful hue in the colors, a nice detail the traces on the water. I like this.

Beautiful image which works really good as study of geological history (and future?) of the area. Really nice colour gradation from deep blue to very light pink helps the viewer feel the distance within the frame. Positioning of elements in the frame is spot on. Well done.

Hi John,
what a breathtaking view. The cliffs sunkissed by the last rays of light lead the eye to discover the beautiful soft tones and shades of the compo. Amazing mood you created here and, for sure, the mediterranean seascape really helped you out to find the inspiration to deliver such a wonderful gem.
I really like it..a lot.
